With Canada's women also taking gold earlier in Curl Aberdeen, Scotland, this completed a notable double. In the same session, Switzerland beat United States by 7-4 to win the bronze medals.

Canada beat defending champions Sweden by 7-4 in Saturday morning's women's final, in Curling Aberdeen, Scotland, to win gold and become the World Junior Curling Championships winners for 2018. In the bronze medal game, China beat Norway by 11-5 to win the first-ever medals for China at this level.

Canada began the defence of their Paralympic title with a shutout 8-0 win over Switzerland after six ends of play on the opening day of the Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 at the Gangneung Curling Centre. The opening session of play also saw wins for hosts Korea, Germany and Great Britain. Canada opened the game with a score of two points in the first end.
