V Číne zlato pre Talianov, Švédov a Škótky

Senzačným víťazstvom Talianska sa v Pekingu na ZOH skončila súťaž v mixed doubles. Dvojica Amos Mosaner, Stefania Constantini nenašla premožiteľa ani v jednom z deviatich zápasov v základnej časti a takisto nezavãhala ani v play off. Taliani najskôr v semifinále zdolali Švédsko 8:1 a vo finále zvíťazili nad Nórskom 8:5. V súťaži mužov sa zo zlatých medailí tešili Švédi, medzi ženami triumfovali Škótky.

Hralo sa v hale Ice Cube, ktorá bola ako Vodná kocka dejiskom plaveckých a potápačských súťaží na olympijských hrách v roku 2008.

These wins mean that they both join unbeaten Scotland in the semi-final line-up. Scotland, already qualified, maintained their unbeaten run with a 6-1 victory over China.

The Americans beat Scotland by 11-4 thanks to scores of three points in the third and sixth ends.

The table-topping defending champions Sweden and second-placed Canada both had wins in Wednesday morning's seventh session of women's round-robin play to become the first two teams to qualify for the weekend play-offs of the World Junior Curling Championships 2018. Sweden had a 10-4 victory over a Scottish team who had their alternate Sophie Jackson playing as skip.
