V Číne zlato pre Talianov, Švédov a Škótky

Senzačným víťazstvom Talianska sa v Pekingu na ZOH skončila súťaž v mixed doubles. Dvojica Amos Mosaner, Stefania Constantini nenašla premožiteľa ani v jednom z deviatich zápasov v základnej časti a takisto nezavãhala ani v play off. Taliani najskôr v semifinále zdolali Švédsko 8:1 a vo finále zvíťazili nad Nórskom 8:5. V súťaži mužov sa zo zlatých medailí tešili Švédi, medzi ženami triumfovali Škótky.

Hralo sa v hale Ice Cube, ktorá bola ako Vodná kocka dejiskom plaveckých a potápačských súťaží na olympijských hrách v roku 2008.

Switzerland booked their place in the semi-finals, alongside previously-qualified Canada and the Olympic Athlete from Russia team, with a last-stone 9-8 victory in the last round-robin session of the Olympic mixed doubles curling event. In the same session, China beat Norway by 9-3 to set up a tie-breaker re-match between these two teams for the last available semi-final slot.
