John Morris selected as Athlete Role Model for Youth Olympic Games 2020
The International Olympic Committee announced on Thursday (25 July) the Athlete Role Models who will mentor the young athletes competing at the Youth Olympic Games from 9-22 January in Lausanne, Switzerland. Canada's John Morris has been nominated by the World Curling Federation and selected by the International Olympic Committee as the Athlete Role Model for curling.

Scottish curling club appointed first World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event host
The new World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event will be played in 2019 at Greenacres Curling Club, near Howwood, in Scotland, from Saturday 30 November to Saturday 7 December. The open entry event will qualify the final four Member Associations for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2020 – this is the first time the world championship has had a qualification element.

The 21st WCF / DCV Hummelt Junior Curling Camp took place from 7-13 July in Fuessen, Germany. The camp wraps up the World Curling Federation's summer camps and courses, after successful ice-tech, umpire and introduction to instructing courses.
