Majstrovstvá sveta vozičkárov v pároch, Richmond

V Kanade aj so slovenskou dvojicou Ďuriš, Kunkelová

Skvelý úspech dosiahli slovenskí vozičkári na MS párov v kanadskom Richmonde, keď skončili na piatom mieste. Naši reprezentanti hrali v zostave Radko Ďuriš, Monika Kunkelová s trénerkou Danielou Matulovou. Náš tím postúpil do štvrťfinále po skvelej bilancii 5 víťazstiev a 4 prehier (z toho tri o jediný bod) z tretieho miesta za Čínou a USA. V súboji o postup do štvrťfinále proti Lotyšsku prehrali Slováci 5:7, aj keď viedli 3:1 a po polovičke zápasu 4:2. Napriek prehre ide o fantastický výsledok aj z hľadiska zisku prvých bodov do kvalifikácie pre paralymijské hry. Gratulujeme :)

China moved into a clear lead in the women's ranking at the World Junior Championships in Liverpool, Canada with an 8-2 win over Switzerland in Thursday morning's seventh round-robin session. Russia also had a win in this session, by 10-7 over Korea, as did Canada, who beat Norway by 8-2, and these results mean that Canada, Russia and Switzerland all share second place.

As Scotland men continued their unbeaten run – beating Italy by 12-1 in just six ends of Wednesday morning's sixth round-robin session of the World Junior Championships in Liverpool, Canada – the qualification race behind them is heating up. Four teams – Canada, Norway, Switzerland, and United States – now share second place and all recorded wins in this session.
