Slováci v Číne na skvelom štvrtom mieste

Zimné paralympijské hry, Peking

Slovenskí reprezentanti dosiahli na paralympiáde životný úspech, keď historicky prvýkrát postúpili do bojov o medaily. V základnej skupine skončili so skvelou bilanciou 7 víťazstiev a 3 prehier na 2. mieste. V semiinále sa stretli so Švédskom, v tesnom súboji však prehrali 4:6: Slovákom nevyšiel ani zápas o bronz, v ktorom nestačili na Kanadu (4:8). Napriek štvrtému miestu je to historický úspech Slovákov na paralympiáde (Sočí 2014 - 4 výhry, 6. miesto, Pjongčang 2018 - 4 výhry, 9. miesto).
Slovensko v Číne reprezentovali hráči Monika Kunkelová, Alena Kánová, Dušan Pitoňák, Radko Ďuriš a Peter Zaťko pod vedením Františka Pitoňáka a Milana Bubeníka.

Zimné paralympijské hry sa konajú v Národnom vodnom centre od soboty 5. do soboty 12. marca.

Výsledky Slovákov: USA 9:3. Nórsko 3:9, Lotyšsko 4:8, V. Británia 7:3, Kórejská reublika 7:2, Kanada 9:8, Čína 5:7, Švédsko 6:5, Švajčiarsko 8:6, Estónsko 7:6

Semifinále: SLOVENSKO - Švédsko 4:6, Čína - Kanada 9:5

Sweden and Scotland to compete for the Le GruyEre AOP European’s gold medals

Defending champions Sweden will play Scotland in Saturday's (24 November) men's gold medal final at the Le GruyEre AOP European Curling Championships 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia, following their semi-final wins. Sweden beat Germany by 6-3 while it took Scotland all the way to an extra end to get past Italy, by 9-6, in their semi-final.

Despite losing their last round-robin game to Sweden by 2-8, Germany gained the fourth semi-final qualification slot at the Le Gruyere AOP European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, joining Sweden, Scotland and Italy. Germany shared the same won five, lost four record as Norway and Switzerland but had the superior draw shot challenge performance, to keep their medal hopes alive.

Women The B-Division women were back in action on Wednesday morning in their seventh round-robin session at the Le GruyEre AOP European Curling Championships 2018. Turkey won 11-3 over Lithuania. Lithuania opened the scoring, but Turkey responded with a four-point score in the second end and increased their advantage from there.
