World Curling appoint new Competitions and Development Officer

The World Curling Federation has appointed the Czech Republic's Jiri Snitil as its newest Competitions and Development Officer. Snitil is best known as skip of the Czech Republic's men's team. He has represented his country at seven World Men's Curling Championships. Also, he won a European Curling Championships bronze medal in 2012 and a European Mixed medal in 2008.

Preparations well underway to welcome the World to Liverpool

Liverpool's preparations for the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships are well underway. A packed house was on hand August 22nd at Queens Place Emera Centre when the Host Society revealed their update and evening of announcements. In less than six months, 100 of the World's best under 21 year old curlers will be welcomed back to Canada, to Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

Mexico to host first World Curling event

The eighth World Curling Congress and Annual General Assembly will be held in Cancun, Mexico between 4 and 6 September 2019, it has been revealed. This is the first time Mexico will host a World Curling Federation sanctioned event – and is a first step towards hosting a full international championship. It is also, only the second time the Congress will be hosted in the Americas zone.
