Víťazom historického turnaja Gallo Team

Víťazom turnaja High Tatras Air Open v Tatranskej Lomnici sa stal Gallo team. Úradujúci slovenskí majstri pod vedením skipa Juraja Galla ako jediní zvíťazili vo všetkých štyroch zápasoch a zdvihli nad hlavu unikátnu trofej.

"Na toto podujatie sme dali zhotoviť krásnu trofej, typického tatranského svišťa stojaceho na curlingovom kameni. Vyrobil nám ju rezbár Marián Hutira. Váži 13 kilogramov a je celá z dreva. Bude to putovná trofej, keďže v organizácii turnaja chceme pokračovať aj v ďalších rokoch," povedal šéf organizačného tímu Jakub Jurkovič.

Na historický prvom curlingovom podujatí na Slovensku pod otvoreným nebom sa na druhom mieste umiestnilo poľské družstvo Jurczyk, tretiu priečku obsadil ďalší domáci tím Rakúsy. Na turnaji sa zúčastnilo 15 družstiev zo Slovenska, Česka, Poľska a Slovinska.

Final 12 teams confirmed for World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2019

The world wheelchair qualification event in Lohja, Finland, in November, saw the wheelchair curling teams from Estonia, Slovakia and Latvia confirm their places in Stirling for the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2018 from 3 to 10 March 2019. Sweden's Team Anna Hasselborg and United States' Team John Shuster, who are the Olympic curling gold medallists from PyeongChang 2018, have won the ‘Best Female Athlete Team of PyeongChang 2018' and the ‘Best Male Athlete Team of PyeongChang 2018' awards respectively. These were awarded at the fifth ANOC Awards 2018, being held in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday.
